Five-eight Kieran Foran is optimistic that he will be cleared to make his return to the NRL in time for the Warriors season-opening match against the Newcastle Knights.
Speaking to fans at the NRL Auckland Nines, Foran informed Warriors fans that the club could receive an answer in the next fortnight about his playing future with the Warriors.
"Jim Doyle and I have met with the NRL a few times and we are hopefully of getting an answer in the next couple of weeks," said Foran.
The 26-year old also opened up about his recent struggles which saw him walk away from a multi-million deal with the Parramatta Eels.
The former Kiwis international has struggled with a number of on-field and off-field issues.
"Being able to come home and surround myself with loving family has been great - I'm smiling again and I'm loving life with the Warriors," he said.
"The whole club is close and we are one big, happy family. I couldn't have wished to come to a better club, and I'm optimistic about 2017."
Even if Foran believes he is heading down the right path, he will first have to be cleared by the NRL.
NRL boss Todd Greenberg told RadioLive he doesn't want to see Foran cleared until they're certain he's got his personal life back on track.
"His primary purpose is not about football," said Greenberg.

"I'm less interested about the start of the season and when he starts putting on football boots than I am about his welfare and his ability to make sure that he has his life in order - that comes before any discussion about his football career."
If Foran is given the green light before the NRL season begins, he believes the Warriors are in for a great year.
"What I have seen since I've been here [at the Warriors] is great," said Foran.
"There is a standard across the board that we are going to get the results we deserve and we want to play finals footy.
"Everyone is tracking along nicely and we will make sure we produce this year."
Foran watched the Warriors crashed out of the NRL Auckland Nines, suffering losses to both of his former sides, the Manly Sea Eagles and the Parramatta Eels.
