World Rugby has finally agreed on a global calendar that will see Super Rugby completed before the new international window in July and more Tests played between the tier one and tier two rugby nations.
The calendar, which will come into effect in 2020, aims to align the northern and southern hemisphere rugby seasons and ensure player welfare as well as the growth of tier two nations.
It will see the June International window moved back to July to enable the Super Rugby season to be completed beforehand.
Meanwhile, France and England have already committed to touring the Pacific Islands with Georgia and Romania also hosting Six Nations teams during the July Test period.
"Agreement on an optimised global calendar that provides certainty and sustainability over the decade beyond Rugby World Cup 2019 represents an historic milestone for the global game," World Rugby boss Bill Beaumont said.
The end of season Tests against the northern hemisphere nations will start a week earlier to give players from the south a longer break before the start of the Super Rugby season.
