The World Boxing Association (WBA) has ordered a title fight between their heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua and dangerous Cuban challenger Luis Ortiz.
The decision comes in response to former champion and multiple belt-holder Vladamir Klitschko announcing his retirement at 41 on Thursday.
The two camps have 30 days to reach an agreement or the fight will be called to purse bids.
Ortiz is the No.1 ranked contender by the WBA, and was set to fight the winner of the Joshua-Klitschko fight, which took place at a sold-out Wembley Stadium at the end of April.
The 27-year-old won that by TKO in the 11th round in front of 90,000 fans - a bout that instantly went down as one of the greatest in heavyweight history.
The Englishman and the Ukrainian great did have a rematch clause in their contract - but after Joshua won, the British boxer's camp had 120 days to organise a title bout against Ortiz.
With 95 days now having passed and no deal in sight, the WBA has stepped in to order Joshua to fight Ortiz.
