Relax and enjoy the moment.
That's the message Toro Rosso is sending debutant Formula 1 driver Brendon Hartley ahead of this weekend's United States Grand Prix in Austin.
Hartley's the first Kiwi Formula One driver since 1984 and he'll be hoping to show he's got what it takes to stick in the sport's premier event.
Toro Rosso team manager and fellow Kiwi Graham Watson told Newshub he just wants Hartley to do his best in his debut race.
"This is a big exciting moment for New Zealand," said Watson. "I'm feeling excited, being a New Zealander, so let's see what happens."
"I don't want to put any expectations on Brendon's shoulders, we are asking him to do something unprecedented here. Most drivers would get a full winter of testing and accumulate 2-3000 kms of driving, before the first grand prix so we have to be realistic.
"So to make an assessment from one weekend would be as grossly unfair, as you could imagine. Ideally, we would like to keep him in the car.
"We don't expect anything other than just to go out there and be confident, and be Brendon Hartley."
And that is the exact goal Hartley is trying to achieve.
"I just want to do my best," he says. "I do not want to put on too many expectations, I just want to have fun.
"I know this track very well, having run in other categories."
Hartley will take his new car for a spin tomorrow in the first round of practice, before his debut event.
