A third member of the All Blacks end of year tour squad has come down with a case of the mumps.
First it was Jack Goodhue, then Rieko Ioane, and now flanker Ardie Savea's caught the contagious disease.
Savea missed the All Blacks training on Wednesday morning (NZ time) after being diagnosed with the virus and has since been put into isolation.
With the flanker in isolation, he is highly unlikely to be named in the All Blacks squad for their last Test match of the year against Wales in Cardiff on Sunday morning (NZ time).
"Ardie has got a mild dose of the mumps," All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster told reporters.
"He's the only one so he's in his room in isolation. He's been fully vaccinated previously as a kid but clearly he's got something. He's been in isolation for a few days. He's actually recovering pretty quickly but we've just kept him apart."
All of the squad are being closely monitored for evidence of the mumps but none are showing warning signs.
"They're not showing any warning signs. I'm not a doctor but it's something we've taken really seriously. We're not just sitting back taking it for granted - I know Tony has done a great job of isolating it but clearly Ardie has caught something."
