Niko Kirwan, the son of All Blacks legend John Kirwan, is set to be named in the All Whites squad for their upcoming behind-closed-doors friendly against Canada later this month, according to reports.
Italian media is saying the 22-year-old midfielder will be selected in Fritz Schmid's squad for the match in Spain.
Schmid is currently in Europe speaking to New Zealand's European contingent ahead of naming his squad in the coming days.
Kirwan currently plays for third division Italian side AC Mestre. He has played 18 times for the Venice-based club.
The upcoming friendly against Canada will be the All Whites' first outing since their 2-0 defeat against Peru during the Intercontinental World Cup playoff in Lima back in November.
It will also be Schmid's first game coaching the side.
