Donald Trump has lashed out at the news agencies reporting allegations against him in intelligence documents.
At his first press conference since November's election he refused to take questions from CNN, sarcastically called the BBC "another beauty" and said BuzzFeed was "a failing pile of garbage".
CNN reported the documents include allegations that there was a continuing exchange of information between Trump insiders and the Russian government during the campaign.
A dossier suggests the Russians had sensitive personal information about Mr Trump that could be used to compromise the president-elect.
BuzzFeed detailed information from the documents, and uploaded them in full "so that Americans can make up their own minds about allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government".
A CNN reporter tried asking Mr Trump a question at Thursday's press conference, but was waved away.
"Your organisation is terrible," Mr Trump told him.
"Don't be rude. I'm not going to give you a question. You are fake news."
Applause for the President-elect could then be heard. CNN later reported it came from Mr Trump's aides. None of the press can be seen clapping.
"I think it was disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake," Mr Trump said.
"As far as BuzzFeed, which is a failing pile of garbage writing it, I think they're going to suffer the consequences, and they already are."
Asked if he'd reconsider his position if the allegations were proven correct, he replied: "There's nothing they can come back with."
Asked if he accepted Russia had interfered with the election through hacking, he said Vladimir Putin "shouldn't be doing it".
"He shouldn't be doing it, he won't be doing it. Russia will have much greater respect for our country when I'm leading it than when other people have led it ... we have to work something out."
He then deflected the question towards China.
"It's not just Russia... 22 million accounts were hacked in this country by China. And that's because we have no defence," he said.
"All countries will respect us far more, far more than they do under past administrations."
Also in the press conference, Mr Trump:
- refused to answer a question about whether anyone in his campaign had contact with Russia
- said would "fire" his sons if they didn't do a good job of looking after his business interests while he's President
- spoke out against reforming the media, instead saying they should hire people with "a moral compass"
- said it's an "asset" to the United States if Russian President Vladimir Putin likes him
- insisted the wall on the border with Mexico would go ahead: "Mexico in some form, in their many different forms, will reimburse us. They will reimburse us for the cost of the wall. That will happen."
- said he would donate "all profits from foreign governments made to his hotels to the United States Treasury"
- promised to hire an ethics advisor to oversee conflicts of interest between his business interests and presidency
- said he'd ensure his companies didn't enter into new business deals while he's President
- said his daughter Ivanka had resigned from her role at the Trump Organisation.
Before the conference, Mr Trump asked on Twitter if he was "living in Nazi Germany" after the explosive revelations, which US intelligence chiefs had shared privately with Mr Trump and departing president Barack Obama earlier this week.
