An academic in the United Kingdom found out the hard way, when his children hilariously gatecrashed a live video interview with the BBC.
Professor Robert Kelly was speaking on BBC World about the serious issue of Korean politics.
The video shows the door open behind him and an excited toddler waddling in.
Prof Kelly apologises and tries to maintain composure, but it just gets worse. His younger child, still in a baby walker, bursts through the doorway, wanting to join the fun.
The baby is pursued by a flustered mother, who hurriedly grabs the kids and tries to herd them out of the room.
After some painfully awkward seconds, apparently mortified Prof Kelly pushes on with his political analysis.
He has nothing to be ashamed of though, as people around the world, including Hollywood great Tom Hanks, have shared their enjoyment of the moment on social media.
Even the people behind computer game The Sims got in on the fun, recreating the scene in Sims form.
“We're really grateful to Professor Kelly for his professionalism. This just goes to show that live broadcasting isn't always child's play,” the BBC said.
