A homeless man in England didn't think twice about helping victims flooding out of Manchester Arena following the deadly blast at Ariana Grande's concert.
Stephen Jones was sleeping near the arena when the attack happened on Tuesday (NZ Time).
"I then realised what was happening and saw children coming out, screaming and covered in blood," he told ITV News.
"We were having to pull nails and bits of glass out of their arms and faces.
"They needed the help."
He says his instinct was to go and help straight away.
"Just because I'm homeless it doesn't mean that I haven't got a heart," he says.
"I'd like to think that someone would come and help me if I needed the help."
Mr Jones went on to describe how he and others saved a woman's life by stopping the loss of blood until emergency services arrived.
"We thought she was just going to bleed right out," he says.
"She got cut from her side [so we] had to hold her legs up [to stop blood loss] and then an ambulance came.
"If I didn't help I wouldn't be able to live with myself."
So far, 22 people have been confirmed dead from the blast and more than 59 people remain in hospital with injuries suffered from the attack.
