Texan residents who chose to bunker down rather than evacuate as Hurricane Harvey batters the region are in good company, with a particularly good boy spotted on the streets.
The dog, later identified as a local named Otis, was snapped walking around the city of Sinton carrying an entire bag of dog food.
He appeared bedraggled but purposeful in the photo by Tiele Dockens, and residents have said he symbolises the strength of the state after the worst storm to hit the US in a decade.
Otis was being looked after by his owner's grandfather, Salvador Segovia, at the time. His owner, a five-year-old boy, had evacuated in anticipation of flooding.
Mr Segovia told the Houston Chronicle the dog helps his grandson after hospital visits for seizures and asthma, calling him a "good dog".
"Otis can go to Dairy Queen and he can get a hamburger. He's the only dog allowed to lie down in front of the county court house," he said.
Otis has since gone home, bag of food in tow, according to the Houston Chronicle.
