A common response to spotting a giant spider is to consider burning down your house. One American has done just that.
A massive blaze engulfing a mobile home in Tucson, Arizona, is believed to have started when a resident tried to burn spiders and spiderwebs hiding underneath it, with a blow-torch.
Unsurprisingly, things didn't go as planned.
Firefighters quickly rushed to the scene at about 9:30pm on Sunday (local time) and were able to contain the blaze to just the one home, but it was badly damaged, according to local media.
One person suffered minor injuries, an elderly woman who was carried out of the home by her son and neighbours, the Tucson Fire Department said.
The Fire Department is continuing to investigate the official cause of the fire.
