Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull appears to have made a serious social media faux-pas this weekend at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference.
On Saturday he tweeted a photo of himself, US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
However a Twitter user was quick to point out that another world leader had been cropped from the image - Vietnam President Trần Đại Quang.
President Quang's shoulder is still visible in the far left of the picture.
It is being criticised as particularly galling as Vietnam was the host nation of the APEC conference.
International backlash to the gaffe was swift, with both Vietnamese and Australian social media responding with scorn.
Malcolm Turnbull has so far made no comment.
