Horrifying footage has captured the moment a tiger escaped from a cage during a circus performance in China before attacking two children.
The incident occurred at a temple fair in Hongtong County, in China's northern Shanxi Province, and cameras show crowds of hundreds were present at the show.
The tiger is believed to have escaped after its handlers continually poked it with sticks, becoming aggressive and fleeing from the enclosure by ramming one of its walls.
Those watching can be seen running in myriad directions to get away from the tiger, but two children suffered injuries.
The tiger was recaptured a matter of minutes after making its escape, according to local reports.
It's not yet clear whether the circus will be punished over the incident.
