Apple has apologised for its decision to slow down older phones.
The company had been accused of deliberately limiting the performance of iPhones as batteries age, in order to encourage users to upgrade.

Its response was that limitations are applied to prevent older devices from crashing.
In a statement released on Thursday, the company said: "We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologise."
The company has announced that the cost of out-of-warranty iPhone battery replacements will be slashed and a new software update early in 2018 will give users more insight into their battery's life.
