Workers at a Mexican postal centre have received a shock after discovering a baby tiger packed and ready to be sent via express mail.
The Associated Press reports the tiger was en route from the western state of Jalisco to the central state of Queretaro.
Nobody noticed anything out of order when the package originally arrived but when a sniffer dog alerted staff to contraband inside the package they were shocked to find the sedated tiger cub.
Aside from being dehydrated the tiger was fine but it was sent on to an animal management centre.
According to the authorities the tiger's papers were all in order, but it was confiscated as the attempt to post it constituted animal mistreatment.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
