A nude, tanned man pictured just after saving his friends from a house fire has become an icon online.
9 News caught footage of the man having an animated conversation with firefighters after the incident in Sydney, at 3am on Thursday morning.
The bronzed man, with slicked back hair and small blue undies, told media he had gone downstairs in his apartment to find another man lighting the fire.
He then ran back upstairs to wake up his friends, 9 News reports, before two of the three escaped through a back window, climbing down a pergola. The third escaped through the front door.
The nude man suffered minor lacerations while his two mates were treated for smoke inhalation.
The apartment was completely engulfed in flames, in what firefighters told 9 News was an "incredibly intense fire".
Police are looking for the arsonist, who is believed to have used a Molotov cocktail before fleeing the scene.
