Police are looking for information following a car fire in Wainuiomata on Tuesday morning in which a man was found with serious head injuries.
A vehicle was reported to be on fire at a car park on Coast Road, at about 5.30am.
When police arrived, they found a man with serious head injuries and burns near a black Holden Cruze, which was on fire.
The man is in a serious but stable condition after being flown to Wellington Hospital.
Police believe some of his injuries may not be related to the fire and are investigating the incident.
They would like to hear from anyone who has seen the Holden Cruze - registration JSW312 - in the past 24 hours, particularly around Wainuiomata and Lower Hutt.
