There were thrills and spills at Saturday's Mountain Mayhem, held on the slopes of the Remarkables Ski Area at the Queenstown Winter Festival.
Watching the mountain action from the slopes, festival director Lisa Buckingham said that the snow conditions couldn't have been more perfect for spectators and competitors alike.
"Lunch time crowds at the Remarkables enjoyed a slice of the quirky yet competitive side of the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival," Ms Buckingham said.
The festival celebrates the start of winter with street parties, music, comedy and family fun on the mountain.
Festival events included the Dash for Cash, the Suitcase Race and the Bobsled Race, as well as the Treasure Traverse for children.
