Cyclist Regan Gough has won the Emerging Talent award at the Halberg Awards.
The Waipakurau 18-year-old had a four medal haul at the Junior World Championships this year and beat out Eliza McCartney, mountain biker and Commonwealth Games silver medallist Sam Gaze, and rower Zoe McBride.
Previous winners of the Emerging Talent award include Lydia Ko and Shaun Johnson, and the winner is awarded a $10,000 grant to help them with their sport.
