Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy are engaged.
The couple met at a music festival last year and have been virtually inseparable ever since. They are expecting their first child together later this year and Kate has now announced they are also planning to tie the knot.
She revealed the news on American programme Today Show this week, after interviewer Matt Lauer began quizzing her about the diamond ring she was wearing.
“I haven't really announced it, I was waiting for someone to notice,” Kate laughed.
The actress has remained tight-lipped about when the proposal happened; only saying it took place about a week ago in New York. She called it “very romantic”, but refused to elaborate.
Kate has given several interviews about her relationship recently, but has previously insisted she and Matt were in no hurry to wed.
“No, no, not that I know of! I don’t like putting that sort of pressure on it and I don’t feel it necessary to get married,” she has said. “I already have one child and have had one divorce so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy.”
Kate tied the knot with Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson in 2000 and they have seven-year-old son Ryder together. Matt has not been married before.
