Kate Hudson feels empowered by her "unconventional family".
The 34-year-old Bride Wars actress is the daughter of Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, however she lovingly calls Goldie's partner of 31 years Kurt Russell dad.
Kate is currently engaged to Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy, but she feels no rush to wed due to how she was brought up.
"No, I'm planning nothing right now. I'm so busy, we've been so busy and it's been great. I come from an unconventional family - they're not married, my parents aren't married," she explained on American daytime TV show Live with Kelly & Michael on Tuesday.
"So there's a part of me that goes, if I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. And I'm going to take the time to really plan it right . . . And it's a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot! I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding! So, no. Not anytime soon, no."
Kate shares son Bing with Matthew and her other little boy Ryder with The Black Crowes musician Chris Robinson, who she divorced in 2007.
The star is amazed by how swiftly her children are growing, and she is dedicated to helping her busy household run as smooth as possible.
"Ryder just turned ten, which is so crazy and he's such a dude," she shared. "Bing is two and a half and it's just going [by fast]. He is a drummer . . . That's all he wants to do."
Kate and Matthew have been engaged since April 2011.
