King has emerged as one of New Zealand's most decorated Commonwealth Games athletes, with six medals, including three gold, across three appearances.
She combined with Jaclyn Hawkes for women's doubles gold at Delhi 2010 and retained that crown with Amanda Landers-Murphy at Gold Coast four years later, also claiming victory in the singles competition.
Landers-Murphy has returned from retirement to team with King again at Birmingham.
King reached her highest world ranking of No.4 in April 2014 and currently sits at fifth - the top woman in the Commonwealth. She has won 11 WSA titles, taking out her first platinum event at Hong Kong 2018.
Most recently, King won the Manchester Open in May, beating English rival Sarah-Jane Perry in the final.
