Along with bowler Val Smith, Koudinov is the most experienced member of the NZ contingent to Birmingham, selected for his fifth Commonwealth Games, after debuting at Melbourne 2006.
He has also attended the Olympics at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021.
At Gold Coast four years ago, Koudinov paced the NZ men to sixth in the team contest and finished 15th in the individual all-round competition.
The current Oceania all-round champion is a parallel bars specialist, but has a high bar element named after him in the sport's code of points, described as a 'Gaylord with 1/1 turn'.
