Newshub presenter Mike McRoberts has visited the must-see district of Digbeth in the inner city of Birmingham, as New Zealand prepares for the Commonwealth Games.
The artistic district is engulfed in paintings and murals, with athletes from all over the globe adding their own colour and sound to an already vibrant part of the city.
It hosted the world-famous Bird Custard Factory for 60 years, before it became a complex of shops, cafes and bars in the heart of Birmingham.
McRoberts entrenched himself amid both the atmosphere and nightlife, and described the city as "cool, creative and edgy".
Birmingham representatives are expecting $2.5 billion generated into the economy, with 1.2 million tickets sold for the Commonwealth Games.
