2K Sports has announced that the soundtrack for NBA 2K16 will be curated by award-winning producers DJ Premier, DJ Khaled and DJ Mustard, with 50 tracks spanning six playlists.
There will be an individual playlist created by each producer, as well as an Around the World international playlist, the 2K Classic Mixtape featuring "fan favourites from previous 2K titles" and a master playlist with all 50 tracks.
The chosen music will span a range of genres and eras, and three tracks have been revealed so far:
Additionally, the game will feature six new exclusive instrumental tracks created by the producers, which will be available at various points during the MyPLAYER and MyGM game modes.
"As we continue to identify ways to elevate the NBA 2K franchise for our fans, we wanted to give them more options and choices than ever before with this year's soundtrack," says Alfie Brody, Vice President of Marketing for NBA 2K.
"By bringing these influential producers onboard, fans will be able to experience in-game music in unique, customisable ways."
The NBA 2K series has a history of involving big names in the soundtrack, with NBA 2K13, NBA 2K14 and NBA 2K15 having soundtracks curated by Jay-Z, LeBron James and Pharrell Williams, respectively.
NBA 2K16 also has famed filmmaker Spike Lee writing the story for the game's MyCareer mode.
