Despite the cancellation of Silent Hills, project leads Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro still have plans to work together on another project.
"I love working with Kojima-san," Del Toro said in an interview with IGN.
"We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that's not going to be [Silent Hills]."
Del Toro went on to say that "it's a shame that [Silent Hills] is not going to happen," and that they wanted to make a game that would "really mess with your head" the way Psycho Mantis did in Metal Gear Solid.
"The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that."
Silent Hills was first announce almost a year ago, with a playable teaser called P.T. that revealed a game lead by Kojima and Del Toro, with The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus in the lead role. Rumours about the game's cancellation were sparked by comments from Del Toro earlier this year, and this was later confirmed by Konami.
P.T. was subsequently removed from the PlayStation Store.
The cancelling of Silent Hills came amid widespread reports of conflict between Kojima and Konami, and it's alleged that he will leave the company once Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is wrapped up.
