Comedian Denis Leary has offered to write US TV personality Jon Stewart's jokes for the next two years if he stays put as host of The Daily Show.
The funnyman wraps up his tenure as the political news show's frontman this week and Leary was one of his final guests on Tuesday night, when he urged Stewart to reconsider his plans to turn down a four-year US$50 million contract and spend more time with his family.
The comic said, "What the f**k is wrong with you? Do you know how much therapy you could buy for your kids with US$50 million...?"
"It's not too late... Me and (fellow funnymen) Colin Quinn and Chris Rock will write this f**king show for you for, like, US$25 million of the US$50 million."
But Leary then added, "You're retiring at the top of your game, like most people wish they could do... (but) it may be six months from now, six weeks from now, you'll be on that farm in New Jersey with your family hanging out and your kids will turn to you one day and they'll say, 'Dad, we love you, (but) get a f**king job! You are driving us f**king crazy. Call Denis Leary and get a f**king job, dad!'"
