Kelly Osbourne has insisted she’s not a racist following an appearance on The View.

The 30-year-old appeared on the US talk show on Tuesday and discussed Presidential candidate and businessman Donald Trump’s controversial comments on immigration. But Kelly was quickly branded a racist by viewers herself when she questioned who would clean the billionaire’s toilets if he kicked every Latino out of America. The accusations led the former Fashion Police panellist to defend herself on her Facebook page.

“I want to start by saying I ALWAYS take responsibility for my actions. In this particular case I will take responsibility for my poor choice of words but I will not apologize for being a racist as I am NOT,” she wrote. “I whole-hearted f**ked up today. I don’t want to bullshit anyone with lame excuses.(sic)”

The View co-host Rosie Perez started the conversation by presenting polling results from The Wall Street Journal and Telemundo, which suggested that 75 per cent of Latinos did not like Donald after he seemingly branded Mexicans rapists and murderers. Kelly agreed with the results, questioning how anyone can expect people to vote for them when they’ve been labelled so cruelly. But she left the panel visibly shocked by following it up with the toilet comment.

"Although, I was stopped mid-sentence by Rosie and couldn’t finish my point I will not let Rosie take responsibility for my words," Kelly continued. "I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson. It is my hope that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own f**king toilets.(sic)”
