MediaWorks has announced the upcoming season of The Block NZ: Villa Wars will be hosted by Mark Richardson, joined by new challenge host Shelley Ferguson.
The Block NZ is gearing up for its fourth season on TV3, with yet-to-be announced teams charged with restoring old villa's to their former glory.
Your Home and Garden Managing Editor Shelley Ferguson has a wealth of experience in lifestyle magazines as well as a house renovation under her belt.
"The Block NZ gets better every year, so I'm excited to see what 2015's competitors bring in terms of unique design and decorating styles. I'm hoping the teams can express their individuality, while keeping the market firmly in mind and renovating for resale. I can't wait to see these homes transform from dated to top dollar – bring it on!" says Ferguson.
With the villas in dire need of renovation, Richardson can't wait to see the new teams battle it out to take the top spot come auction day.
"I want to see a fight, a fair fight, but a good fight. The most important thing for our teams to remember is that The Block NZ is a competition," says Richardson.
"If you look at the history of our show every year one couple, the couple who did the best job, walks away with a very handsome sum indeed. Second place always receives something very worthwhile and third and fourth are at the mercy of the buying public on the night. Perhaps this is the former sportsman coming out in me but a good Block is a hard fought Block. Every year the contestants appear to bring more belief in themselves than the previous but they must remember that they're not trying to beat Libby and Ben or Alex and Corban, they are vying to be the best of the current crop - and this crop looks good."
MediaWorks is pleased to announce a great family of new and returning sponsors for The Block NZ: Villa Wars. AMP is proud to be on board as broadcast sponsor, supporting their first season of The Block NZ, along with returning programme partner Honda, and new programme partners Pita Pit and Morepork by Spark.
