British magician and veteran entertainer Paul Daniels has died, aged 77.
Daniels, real name Newton Edward Daniels, has passed away after he was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour, his publicist confirmed on Thursday (local time).
He went public with his diagnosis in February, by publishing a statement, "We can confirm that one of our greatest magicians and entertainers of all times, Paul Daniels, has sadly been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour...
"On behalf of Paul, [his wife] Debbie and their families, we thank you for your kind concerns and support at this sad time and ask that their privacy continues to be respected. There will be no further comments at this time."
He left hospital at the start of March to spend his final days at home.
He is best known for BBC's The Paul Daniels Magic Show, which ran for 15 years. He married his on-stage assistant Debbie McGee in 1988.
