A recent viral video of an interview with actor Ben Affleck has sent Simon & Garfunkel's "Sound of Silence" back to the top of the charts, 50 years after it was released.
The video on YouTube shows Ben Affleck's reaction to an interviewer's question about unfavourable "Batman v Superman" reviews. While co-star Henry Cavill speaks, Affleck stares sadly into the distance while Simon & Garfunkel's classic tune plays over the voices.
The video has been viewed nearly 22 million times since it was uploaded on March 24. It has pushed "Sound of Silence" into number six on the Billboard Rock Top 10 chart.
Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel will be making a fair amount in royalties, as Nielsen reports about 5.6 million US streams of the song online, putting it at second on the top rock streaming songs list.
Billboard says when the song came out in 1966, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks.
