Alden Ehrenreich has landed one of the biggest roles in the galaxy, having been picked to play Han Solo in an upcoming stand-alone Star Wars film.
Variety reports the Hail Caesar! star will take on the role originally immortalised by Harrison Ford in the Phil Lord and Chris Miller-directed flick.
Plot details for the film haven't been released, except that it will take place before Star Wars: A New Hope.
The other standalone epic Rogue One starring Felicity Jones, Forest Whitaker and Mads Mikkelson, is set for release in December.
Production on the Han Solo film is set to start in January, and it's been rumoured he could make a cameo in Rogue One to set the character up.
The films follow the astronomical success of last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The Han Solo film is set for release in May, 2018.
