Married at First Sight: The final

Married at First Sight: The final

The final episode of Married at First Sight aired last night. As the experiment came to a close, the couples had to decide if they wanted to stay married or if it was time to move on.

They were confronted with all the little issues that had arisen during the journey as they pondered if longevity could come from their speedy nuptials.

We also heard from long gone ex-husband and -wife Jono and Clare and found out in a shock-twist Clare is now an Uber driver.

Erin and Bryce

Erin and Bryce! The main thing playing on the minds of Erin and Bryce was children.

During the family visit, Bryce's mum had asked Erin if she wanted to have kids. Nervous Erin, never one to say things just to please, said she'd never thought about it.

While Bryce, already in his 30s, didn't want to be an "old dad".

At the final meeting Erin's skin was inflamed, her fears of Bryce not feeling the same as her had manifested themselves in a rash that covered her entire chest.

But they were unfounded. Bryce said children was something that came when it came. When Erin moved out he was so sad, and that was when he thought – he knew – he wanted to continue.

Two months later: They were still together and by then Erin was a domestic goddess. She now no longer calls her mum to find out if the oven was hot enough to cook with -- she just texts.

Simone and Xavier

Simone was still pained by Xavier's lack of romance. She wanted to go on dates. Xavier, in an effort to meet half way, took her to a football game.

She didn't think he was aware of her gender.

Before she left he ordered pizza and bought some flowers -- chuffed with the effort he made -- but it was too little too late for Simone.

At the final meeting Xavier looked so happy, right to the end he was oblivious that Simone didn't enjoy being with him. Simone was so clear in her decision to leave him to his football in search of a fairytale.

Two months later: Xavier had done some soul searching. He would work on his "deficiencies" and he would be so f***king romantic in future.

Mark and Christie

Mark and Christie were still divided by their distance. Mark loved his life on the farm, but he also really liked Christie.

At decision time Mark really drew the process out. He explained how torn he was, he felt he had to choose between a girl and a lifestyle -- he chose both.

Two months later: The two were still commuting back and forth. They didn't seem to mind too much.

Something weird happened though; Christie took on Mark's silly sense of humour. The two were bouncing terrible double-entendres off each other and former ice-queen Christie had become better at cracking the bad jokes than Mark was.
