Australia has made another attempt to steal Crowded House from New Zealand - this time inducting the legendary band into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame.
But New Zealand's fourth-most-popular folk duo were there to protest.
Flight of the Conchords' Brett McKenzie and Jemaine Clement announced the award at the star-studded event in Sydney.
"We must stop this, you've got enough bands in the Hall of Fame," Clement quipped.
"We really need Crowded House, our Hall of Fame is more of a doorway," McKenzie said.
Crowded House received Australia's highest musical honour to a standing ovation in Sydney, even though Neil Finn wasn't exactly sure what it meant.
"We can turn up here - we're now in the Hall of Fame so that means there's a lot of privileges, things we can enjoy, you know. I haven't told what they are yet," he told reporters.
Neil Finn's brother and Split Enz founder Tim Finn wasn't there, but will join Crowded House for reunion shows in Sydney.
