A deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens shows Chewbacca ripping off a character's arm and throwing it away.
Warning: Spoilers from The Force Awakens follow.
Han Solo's wookiee sidekick carries out the attack on Unkar Plutt, played by Simon Pegg, who has caught up with Rey during the sequence in Maz Kanata's castle.
After she stole the Millennium Falcon from him on Jakku, Plutt is furious with Rey. Pistols are drawn and things don't look good for her - until Chewbacca steps in and removes the limb.
Plutt is far from the first Star Wars character to have an arm or hand severed; it's happened to Luke Skywalker, both Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader, and Mace Windu.
Back in the original Star Wars from 1977, it's told through dialogue that Chewbacca is a sore loser prone to pulling arms out of their sockets if a game of Holochess doesn't go his way.
The deleted scene hasn't been released officially by Star Wars owners Disney or Lucasfilm and an explanation of why it was edited out of the film hasn't been given.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens made over US$2 billion at the global box office.
