Kiwi comedian Rose Matafeo has made the Guardian's '20 talents set to take 2017 by storm' list.
Matafeo is a household name on the Kiwi comedy scene, having won the Billy T Award and making regular appearances on TV3's Jono And Ben and starring in Funny Girls.
She moved to London in 2015 with the dream of further pursuing her comedic career and less than two years later, she seems to have cracked it.
Matafeo is one of only two comedians to be named on the Guardian's list.
"Twenty-four-year-old Kiwi Rose Matafeo's star is in the ascendant. That won't surprise anyone who witnessed her Edinburgh fringe debut last summer: her show wasn't the finished article, but Matafeo's talent hit you like a force-10 gale."
She received raving reviews from the same paper after her Edinburgh Fringe debut last summer.
"Excitable, chaotic and yet supremely in control; great voices, great jokes, both serious and silly; rocket-fuelled forward momentum.
"The woman has charisma to burn and we should see plenty more of her in 2017."
Matafeo will be performing the final run of Rose Matafeo is Finally Dead at London's Soho Theatre this February.
