A week on from trying to order a KFC bucket while navigating through a drive-thru on a ride-on lawnmower in Auckland, The Rock radio station has attempted it in Wellington - on an even more ambitious 'vehicle'.
The station's Morning Rumble team conducted an experiment last Friday at KFC Ponsonby to work out whether host Bryce Casey would get served if he drove in on the lawnmower, days on from a contentious drive-thru incident in Napier.
That incident had seen Wayne Sykes left "pissed off" and "embarrassed" after McDonald's staff stopped him from purchasing a soft-serve ice cream from the drive-thru because he was on a mobility scooter, prompting The Rock's experiments.

This particular experiment, however, saw a major step-up in difficulty as they attempted to traverse through a central Wellington KFC drive-thru on Captain Hurricane's personal Hurriplane. The captain is the mascot for Super Rugby side the Hurricanes, who are based in the capital.
And that wasn't the only change - Morning Rumble hosts Andrew Mulligan and Bryce Casey also had to contend with the fact that their vehicle wouldn't start, meaning they had to be pushed along by fellow host Roger Farrelly.
After successfully ordering a quarter-pack, they took the long journey around the corner to the pick-up window - a voyage that had Mulligan exclaiming that he had goosebumps, and Casey comparing his level of excitement to that of hooker Dane Coles before a Hurricanes game.
The drive-thru operators appeared to have no problem with the type of vehicle they were driving, however, getting to work making the order before delivering it happily through the window.
And it got better; when Mulligan went to pay they refused to take his card, saying "nah, apparently you guys are free" - much to the delight of the team, with Casey saying it was "a great day to be a New Zealander" and Mulligan appearing to burst into tears out of sheer happiness.
