Despite recent reports that Paramount Pictures has abandoned the Terminator franchise completely, Arnold Schwarzenegger says they'll be back.
Last month, the studio reportedly cancelled plans for a sequel to 2015's Teminator: Genisys, which received generally unfavourable reviews and reasonably modest box office takings.
Schwarzenegger has now spoken out about the report, insisting he's not saying 'hasta la vista' to the series yet.
"I'm looking forward to doing another Terminator movie... the Terminator franchise is never finished," Schwarzenegger told Fandango.
"Just because Paramount doesn't want to pick up the Terminator franchise, you have 15 other studios willing to do it... It just means they are on their way to negotiate with another studio, but I can't give you the details of that."
The Junior star also said filmmaker James Cameron, who launched the Terminator franchise with the original 1984 film, will regain rights to it in 2018.
Schwarzenegger also told Fandango sequels to Conan and Twins are in the works, but confirmed there is no plan for a follow-up to Kindergarten Cop.
There was no mention of sequels to Schwarzenegger classics Commando, The Running Man, Total Recall, Red Heat, Raw Deal or True Lies.
