Shannon Doherty has revealed that she is in remission after an ongoing battle with cancer.
The former Charmed and Beverly Hills 90210 actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2015, having undergone both chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The 46 year-old posted a poignant upload to her 900,000 fans on Tuesday, emotionally revealing she was finally in remission.
"What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react. Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting," Doherty wrote.
"Now more waiting. As every single one of my fellow cancer family knows, the next five years is crucial. Recurrences happen all the time.
"Many of you have shared that very story with me. So with a heart that is certainly lighter, I wait."
She ended the Instagram post with the hashtag #cancerslayer, a nod to her role in the hit television show Charmed.
The post received more than 80,000 likes and hundreds of supportive comments from fans.
