Space, the final frontier - not just for James T Kirk, but his real-life alter ego William Shatner.
The 86-year-old Star Trek star has signed up for a zero-gravity flight, the closest he's ever got to space.
"Going weightless will turn a dream into reality," Shatner said in a statement.
"I've always wondered what it would be like to actually explore the final frontier, and now I have the opportunity to experience zero-gravity firsthand. It will be an incredible adventure."
Shatner, who portrayed Capt Kirk in three seasons of Star Trek and seven feature films, will take to the skies in August. If you want to float with him, tickets are available for US$9950 - twice what it normally costs.
His 80-year-old co-star George Takei, who played Hikaru Sulu, celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic show by taking a flight last year.
