Lionel Richie announces New Zealand tour

  • 08/06/2017

Motown R&B icon Lionel Richie is coming to New Zealand in October, and judging by the tour name, it'll be a night of old favourites.

The All the Hits Tour will be singing 'Hello' to Christchurch on October 19 and Auckland on October 21.

Richie will be joined by CHIC, featuring legendary musician and producer Nile Rodgers.

Rodgers was recently part of the production team behind Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' and 'Lose Yourself to Dance'.

The former Commodores singer behind hits like 'All Night Long', 'Dancing on the Ceiling' and 'Easy' was last here in 2014, when he toured with John Farnam.

The Commodores have a New Zealand connection - bass player and writer of the hit 'Brick House' Ronald LaPread moved here years ago, and reunited with Richie onstage at his 2014 show.

Tickets go on sale on June 19.
