In the wake of the protests against Confederate statues in the United States, music fans have started a movement to have the controversial figures replaced with statues of their favourite artists.

Music fans are calling for a statue of rapper Missy Elliot to replace a Confederate monument in Portsmouth, also in Virginia.
The petition to create a statue of Elliott, a "true Portsmouth native hero", has gained more than 29,000 signatures in over a week.
"I don't know what to say just to see this warms my heart and it's so humbling to me," Elliot said on Twitter in response to the petition.
Louisiana music fans also want to see a statue of one of their own replace the southern state's Confederate statues.
Pop icon and Louisiana native Britney Spears already has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and if her music fans have their way she too could be memorialised in her home state.
The petition for a statue of the singer and "actual Louisiana hero" has more than 2000 signatures.
