Despite his lavish lifestyle, Hugh Hefner's friends and family say his funeral over the weekend was a discreet affair.
Only Hefner's four children, wife Crystal Harris and some of the mansion's long-serving staff were there to pay tribute to the late icon, TMZ reports.
The intimate ceremony for the Playboy magazine founder was held at Los Angeles' Westwood Village Memorial Park at noon on Saturday (local time).
The 91-year-old passed away last week, after reportedly battling cancer in secret for several years. In early May, reports claimed he had only weeks to live.
Hefner was buried next to Marilyn Monroe, a space he reportedly bought for US$75,000 in 1992. Other celebs and old friends are buried in the space, including jazz musician Buddy Rich and Canadian Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten, who was murdered in 1989.
