Pop legend Sir Paul McCartney rocked Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium for three hours on Saturday night.
The concert covered the singer's career from his songs with The Beatles all the way up to his recent collaboration with Kanye West.
Bob Lyall, a lifelong Beatles fan, was 17 when the band performed in Wellington in 1964. Now 70, on Saturday night he fulfilled his dream of seeing one of the Fab Four in the flesh again.
"The wait was definitely worth it because he hasn't changed one little bit since 1964; he's still exactly the same," Mr Lyall says.
"And the crowd - 30,000 last night - was awesome. They were dancing off their feet."
The night had one sour note - the length of the line to pick up what punters thought would be limited free tickets. McCartney fan Rebecca Goodbehere was a little miffed at the sheer number of complimentary tickets.
"Looking at this length of the free stuff over there, I'm a little bit offended that I spent so much money on my original tickets."
But one potentially heart-breaking story had a heart-warming twist. Helen Jones bought a $400 ticket online in Sydney and flew over to Auckland, only to be told it was a forgery. Thankfully, her story had a happy ending.
"I got very upset, and the lovely Kiwis actually gave me a free ticket," she says.
"I can't believe that, so these Kiwis - unbelievable."
You can't buy love, but it seems a ticket to Paul McCartney is the next best thing.
