Instagram has released its 2017 Year in Review and with it the list of the most-followed pets in the world.
Jiffpom the Pomeranian is by far the most popular pet on Instagram with a whopping 7 million followers - double the number of the second-placed animal.
Three cats and seven dogs feature in the top ten, with perhaps the most recognisable - Grumpy Cat - coming in at fifth place.
All but one of the list hail from the United States, with the exception of a Japanese dog named Shinjiro Ono.
The top ten most-followed pets of Instagram in 2017 are listed below:

3. Doug the Pug (@itsdougthepug) - Pug with 3M followers
4. Shinjiro Ono (@marutaro) - Shiba Inu with 2.6M followers
5. Grumpy Cat (@realgrumpycat) - Cat with 2.4M followers
6. Marnie the Dog (@marniethedog) - Shih Tzu with 2.1M followers
7. Tuna (@tunameltsmyheart) - Chiweenie with 1.9M followers
8. JuniperFoxx (@juniperfoxx) - Fox with 1.9M followers
9. Lil Bub (@iamlilbub) - Cat with 1.6M followers
10. Loki (@loki_the_wolfdog) - Husky with 1.6M followers
