Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is thanking his Kiwi fans for helping his latest movie bump Star Wars: The Last Jedi off the top box office spot.
The WWE legend's Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle opened in New Zealand on Boxing Day and has already pulled in NZ$2.48 million, topping the local box office for the six days ending on Tuesday.
Johnson has responded on Instagram with a video.
"Thank you so, so much for the Jumanji love," he gushes.
"New Zealand, you know I love you. I used to live there, did some of my growing up there, have a lot of aiga (family) there... it's where I first learned to play rugby - got my ass kicked all over the field, but that's OK because it made me tougher.
"I love you guys and I'll be seeing you soon."
Jumanji's per screen average in New Zealand was a whopping $14,426 over the last week - more than double that of The Last Jedi's.
Kiwi comedian Rhys Darby, of Flight of the Conchords fame, stars in the film alongside Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black.
