Newshub's Europe correspondent Tova O'Brien is returning to New Zealand to take up a new role as Political Editor.
O'Brien has worked for Newshub since 2007 and was previously part of the press gallery, before moving to Europe in 2016.
"I'm utterly delighted to be returning to the press gallery as Newshub's Political Editor and know full-well the responsibility that comes with the role," she says.
"Ours is the best political team in the country and Newshub's legacy of exceptional, ground-breaking Political Editors has always been an inspiration."
MediaWorks' chief news officer Hal Crawford says O'Brien will make the role her own.
"Tova is an exceptional news talent, filing on every major story in Europe over the past two years," he says.
"I'm looking forward to her bringing that insight and presence back to Wellington for Newshub."
During her time in Europe, O'Brien covered breaking news including the Grenfell Tower disaster and the UK elections. She takes on the Political Editor position from April.
Patrick Gower, who held the Political Editor position during the last election, will take on a new role as National Correspondent from April.
The replacement Europe correspondent is yet to be announced.
Lisa Owen, Ryan Bridge to host RadioLIVE Drive
Newshub journalists Lisa Owen and Ryan Bridge will be the new hosts of RadioLIVE Drive from early March.
Crawford says they're both seasoned journalists who will bring the "full force of the Newshub and RadioLIVE newsrooms together".
Owen also hosts Newshub Nation, formerly known as The Nation, on Three, and says she's thrilled to return to her radio roots.
"[I love] the immediacy of it and the instant reaction you get back from listeners," she says.
"Oh, and I can't wait to wind Ryan up!"
Bridge praises his new co-host as a "legend" and says they're going to give it their all.
"I can't wait to crack into it. I love radio - it's live, it's fast-paced, it's relentless and quite a personal medium," he says.
The replacement programme for Bridge's current show, Your Sunday With Ryan Bridge on RadioLIVE, is yet to be announced.
Newshub Investigates announced
Newshub Investigates, a weekly podcast series, will launch in March.
The series will kick off with an investigation into a questionable murder conviction, with later episodes exploring New Zealand's most intriguing and significant stories.
A new partnership between online news outlet The Spinoff and MediaWorks has also been announced, which will see daily content on both Newshub and The Spinoff.
The Spinoff TV will combine comedians, YouTube celebrities and reporters as they talk about New Zealand's headlines, with a weekly 'best of' episodes airing on Three from June.
"2018 is a huge year for Newshub across all platforms - radio, TV and digital," Crawford says.
"These innovative properties will engage younger audiences with the Newshub brand and its content."
