Model and social media star Chrissy Teigen has infuriated vegans and vegetarians with a series of tweets on bacon and pork.
It began when the Sports Illustrated cover star responded to a poll asking how well-done people like their bacon. She suggested number four of six - middle-of-the-road, slightly on the well-done side.
"Chewy crispy fat, crispy juicy meat," Teigen commented. The tweet seemed innocent enough, but sent animal-lovers into meltdown.
"They're better alive," said follower @Alectronarays.
"I disagree," responded Teigen. "I do not like eating them alive."
"Wow. Can't imagine what it must feel like to think that you're SO important that others exist/die just for YOU!" wrote @KalelKitten.
"I can't imagine thinking I'm a god because I don't eat meat while simultaneously being a judgemental brat to strangers online," Teigen retorted.
"How can y'all eat bacon… disgusting," wrote @qtolzanski, adding an ill emoji face.
"Peacefully, ideally," said Teigen.
Another hater said he couldn't respect her anymore. She questioned how they could still respect her after she had husband John Legend eat a plate of chicken off her bare bum.
"My last cookbook was 98 percent gratuitous pork," added the Lip Sync Battle co-host.
In February, Teigen made headlines after posting a photo on Instagram in which she appeared nude whilst making a salad.
