Demi Lovato has released a new track in which she admits she has relapsed after over six years of sobriety.
Her song 'Sober' includes lyrics such as: "Momma, I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore/And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor."
Lovato has been previously been open about her struggles with alcohol and drug abuse.
In her 2017 documentary, Simply Complicated, she said, "My dad was an addict and an alcoholic.
"Guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him."
The 'Sorry Not Sorry' singer posted a link to her new track on Twitter, with the caption "my truth..."
Referencing losing fans over her public addiction battle, she sings, "I wanna be a role model/But I'm only human".
"I'm sorry that I'm here again / I promise I'll get help," the lyrics continue.
In April, Lovato hit back at a fan who questioned her sobriety after a picture of the pop star holding a drink was posted on Instagram.
"I don't have to defend anything but it was Red Bull," Lovato said.
The songstress celebrated six years sober on Twitter in March, writing, "Just officially turned 6 years sober. So grateful for another year of joy, health and happiness. It IS possible."
With no official statement released on her current sobriety status, it appears Lovato will be letting her lyrics do the talking for the time being.
