After a series of negative headlines for mocking people over the internet, US rapper 50 Cent has found himself on the receiving end of an online mockery - courtesy of the world's highest-paid athlete.
Floyd Mayweather Jr, the self-described best boxer in history, has laid into his former friend - in the process reigniting a feud that had been dormant for several years.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Mayweather Jr criticised 50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - over the downturn in his music career, his financial woes and his lack of originality, among many more topics.
"You're mad because your oldest son [Marquise Jackson] mother doesn't want to be with you!" the post begins. "Your Son, your own flesh and blood don't want nothing to do with you!
"You haven't had a hit song on radio in who knows when and you're definitely not hot enough to even sell records anymore so Interscope dropped you."
"You are jealous of any rapper, athlete or entertainer that's hot or got something going on for themselves. You are a certified snitch and we got paperwork to prove it.
"You talk about Ja-Rule but you stole his whole style and ran with it! You're the only self-proclaimed gangster that's never put in work!"
In a follow-up post, Mayweather Jr doubled down on his criticism, referencing 50 Cent's son and the strained relationship the pair share.
"Bloodline is forever! You want to address the world, but forget to address your first born. Don't worry Marquise, Uncle Floyd still got you!"
50 Cent has been no saint himself on social media in recent times. He received heavy criticism in March after mocking rap rival Rick Ross, who was at the time in a critical condition, and was also berated for ridiculing Terry Crews over an alleged sexual assault in June.
